Oil : 2 Teaspoons
Mustard seeds : 1/4 Teaspoon
Urad dal : 1/2 Teaspoon

Grind together grated coconut, green chillies and roasted gram with required water.
Transfer it into a bowl. Add water to get the required consistency. Then add salt and mix well.
In a pan, heat oil, add mustard seeds, urad dal and curry leaves and fry for a minute till urad dal turns slightly golden.
Add the tempering to the chutney. Mix well and serve.
If not using grated coconut, then chop the coconut flesh into small pieces and grind it. Next add the green chillies and roasted gram and proceed.
For additional flavour you can add ginger along with coconut and grind. You can also use garlic instead of ginger.
Adjust the green chillies as per your heat tolerance level. You can add red chillies while tempering.
My mom uses chopped onion in the tempering. I personally like those onions in chutney.
You can garnish with chopped cilantro too.
