Today I am here with Baby Corn 65 Recipe. This South Indian style baby corn fritters can be served as an appetizer / starter. This is easy to make – Prepare the batter, mix baby corn with the batter such that they are evenly coated in the batter, deep fry till it is crispy and then serve it warm. They can be quite addictive. Kids and adults will both equally love this baby corn 65.

Easy to prepare Baby Corn Fritters that can be served as an appetizer / starter. (Vegan)

Ingredients :

  • Baby Corn : 250 grams
  • Gram Flour : 3 Tablespoon
  • All Purpose Flour : 1 1/2 Tablespoon
  • Corn Flour : 1 1/2 Tablespoon
  • Turmeric Powder : 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Coriander Powder : 1 Teaspoon
  • Chilli Powder : 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Garam Masala Powder : 1 Teaspoon
  • Ginger Garlic Paste : 1 Teaspoon
  • Salt : To taste
  • Orange Food Colour : As needed(optional)
  • Water : As needed
  • Oil : As required to deep fry
  • Curry Leaves : 2 Sprigs

Instructions :

  1. Wash and cut baby corn into required sized pieces.
  2. Prepare the batter by mixing gram flour, all purpose flour, corn flour, turmeric powder, coriander powder, chilli powder, garam masala powder, ginger garlic paste, salt, food colour, along with required water to form a smooth batter.
  3. Add the baby corn to the batter and mix such that they are evenly coated in the batter on all sides.
  4. Heat oil. Deep fry the coated baby corn in batches. When the sizzling stops, remove from oil, drain excess oil. Repeat the process for rest of the baby corn.
  5. Once everything is fried, finally fry curry leaves and use them for garnishing. Serve it warm.

Notes :

  • Adding food colour is optional.
  • Adjust chilli powder as per your heat tolerance level.
  • Maintaining temperature of oil is essential for crispy fried baby corn. If it is too hot, it will burn and if it is not hot enough then it might turn soggy.
  • Fry them in batches. Do not over crowd them.

how to make baby corn 65 with step by step pictures?

  • Wash baby corn and cut them into required sized pieces. Keep it aside.

  • Prepare the batter by mixing gram flour, corn flour, all purpose flour, coriander powder, chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, ginger garlic powder, salt, food colour (optional) and required water. Mix such a way that the batter is smooth without any lumps. Then add the baby corn to the batter and mix well such that they are evenly coated  in the batter on all sides.

  • Heat oil and deep fry them in batches. When the sizzling stops, remove them from oil and drain excess oil.  Repeat the process for rest of the flour coated baby corn.

  • Once all the baby corn is fried, fry some curry leaves and use it for garnishing and serve warm.
